Disgruntled Twinkie Fan Causes Disturbance At Suburban Jewel

By Samantha Abernethy in News on Dec 13, 2012 11:00PM

We hope this is the last we see of Twinkie mania in Chicago.

Police say a shopper at a Jewel grocery store in suburban Buffalo Grove was causing a disturbance because the store would not allow him to purchase more than 10 Twinkies.

The grocery store chain had announced the "final shipment" of Hostess products would be delivered to Chicago-area Jewels on Tuesda, but delivery times varied greatly. We saw people circling a Jewel waiting for the snack cakes to be delivered, and the deliver time was listed as 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. That's a long time to circle just for sweets.

Fortunately, police did not have to arrest the man. According to the Sun-Times, "Police told the outraged customer the store has the right to set purchase limits, and advised him to buy his 10 Twinkies and leave, which he did."
