Response to the new album, Traphouse Rock, from Chicago's Kids These Days has been mixed in the Chicagoist offices, but we all agree that "Don't Harsh My Mellow" is a monster jam. Outside of that, this correspondent finds the disc to be pretty uneven. While it's evident that these kids are incredibly talented, the results feel a little sprawling and unfocused. But hey, that's just this writer's opinion! Our own Jon Graef is working up his own thoughts about the album for your consumption and his views are divergent from those above. And none of us deny that these kids are loved by many throughout the city.

Kids These Days are returning that love by offering up Traphouse Rock as a 100% free download, with not even an email required, for all who want it. We don't know if this is an open-ended offer or a limited time surprise, so if you're interested in taking advantage of it you should jump on it ASAP.
