The CTA’s De-Crowding plan went into effect Sunday and early reviews have been mixed, depending on what form of transit one tends to use.
If you’re primarily a train rider you’re liable to like the plan so far, since it calls for added trains and service on the “L” system. The Sun-Times spoke with Brown Line riders who said there were less waits for trains and found it easier to find a seat.
If you rely on any of the 12 discontinued bus routes for transit, you may be shaking your fist at CTA right now. Lost in the discussion of the discontinuation of the Lincoln Avenue bus between Fullerton and Western, we should note other bus routes that were discontinued, notably the #122 Illinois Center/Ogilvie Express, 123 Illinois Center/Union Express, #144 Marine/Michigan Express, #145 Wilson/Michigan Express and the #129 West Loop/South Loop.
