Every time Serious Eats Chicago posts a new best-of list, we get out our bibs and forks because we're gonna get hungry. They are, as their name implies, serious eaters, especially of all things cheap and/or slightly greasy, and they have rounded up all of their favorite foods from 2012.
The first list to catch our eye? Best Tacos, which includes entries like the pork carnitas at Antique Taco, the Tacos de Champignon at Masa Azul and the (less cheap) coffee braised lamb at Mexique.
They've also posted lists of their favorite sweets (rest in peace, Beard Papa's), favorite noodle dishes and favorite lunch spots in the loop. Every one of these is worth printing out, taping to your desk and going through each entry with a marker. Get to it, people - 2013 is already 3 days gone!
