Just as we anticipated, Deschutes Brewery is about to hit the Chicago market with a big bang starting Jan. 5. Events ranging from pint nights, where your purchase of a pint of Deschutes beer gets you a free glass to take home, to interactive events with food pairings, and finally, the events involving Woody, the Deschutes bar on wheels. Drinkers have two weeks of of opportunities that touch nearly every corner of the greater Chicago area.

Rather than post each and every event here, we’ve rounded up what we think are the Chicago highlights. The full gamut of Deschutes launch events can be found here .

Meet Woody and The Gang

Thursday Jan. 17
Maria’s Packaged Goods and Community Bar

We’ll celebrate any reason to go to Maria’s and the final stop of the Deschutes Chicago blitz seems like one good reason. On hand will also be Woody and his crew. Woody is an enormous wooden barrel that houses the Deschutes bar-on-wheels. Given that Maria’s also operates as a package shop, you can take a few bottles home with you at the end of the night.
