Today's forecast is one of those where we like to compare Skilling Central to Accuweather and hope for something in between. If either of these forecasts is right, we're turning off the heat and opening some windows today. The warming trend is upon us, readers. We're looking at a mix of clouds and sun, come lively wind activity and a high in the low 40s.

How warm has it been this winter so far? The lowest recorded temperature has been 10 degrees. According to Richard Koeneman at the Chicago Weather Center blog, only 13 of the past 142 winters have recorded a sub-zero low. Tuesday will also tie the record of 319 consecutive days without one inch of recorded snow.
