A CTA train conductor found a male body on the Blue Line tracks early Monday morning. The Tribune describes the body as "mangled," and the Sun-Times describes it as "dismembered."
A conductor spotted the body near the LaSalle station around 1:45 a.m., and the Blue Line resumed by 4:10 a.m.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office told the Sun-Times that the body had been on the tracks for some time when it was discovered. A CTA spokeswoman told the Tribune that reports suggested he had been struck by a northbound train.
Detectives have launched a death investigation.
