Bomb Banks has only been around since mid-2011, but these art-punk extraordinaires have thoroughly spewed their volatile energy and delirious rhythms all over Chicago’s noise scene. The band tends to favor little-known basement venues and DIY spaces, but they’re taking the stage at the Empty Bottle tonight to celebrate the release of their new tape, Not People, through Chicago label Love Lion.

We can’t think of good reason not to go to this show tonight. The rest of the lineup is solid: Diva 93 out of Minneapolis performs, as well as local solo project Mr. 666 (think electro soundtrack for the end of the world) and the too-new-to-know Loon Luna.

And this show is free with RSVP; otherwise, it’s $8 at the door. As usual, the event is first-come, first-serve, so don’t be late.

Just so you know what you’re getting yourself in to, check out this video of Bomb Banks on Chic-A-Go-Go:

Bomb Banks plays tonight, Wednesday, January 16 at the Empty Bottle, 1035 N Western, 9 p.m., $8 or FREE with RSVP, 21+
