On their Twitter account, Chicago-based instrumental metal act Russian Circles announced they would be returning to the studio this spring to record what will become their fifth album, the follow-up to 2011's Empros. No word on an eventual title or release date as of yet, though the band promised more information to come.

Russian Circles will play The Congress Theater on Feb. 9, as the supporting act for Coheed and Cambria. Here's hoping for new material debuted there. In the meantime, though, catch up with Empros, and watch the band perform Empros lead-off track "309" at Entourage Studios in North Hollywood.
