The Lenten season for many Chicagoans means Pączki season is right around the corner. (We're unabashed 24-hour pączki people, however.)

Whether you're taking part in the pączki eating contest at Bennison's Bakery or grabbing a single prune-filled paczek at one of our favorite places to buy one, tomorrow kicks off nearly a week of seeing the delightful Polish doughnut receive a higher profile this time of year. Chicago has the highest concentration of Poles outside of Poland and we celebrate both Fat Thursday and Fat Tuesday here.

Right now bakeries across the city are beginning to work deep into the night and into the morning to ensure that everyone who wants pączki gets some. Let's use this now to call for your pączki photos in the Chicagoist Flickr pool.
