A man in prison for allegedly sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl now faces charges he attempted to hire a hitman to kill the victim, her sister and her mother. Brian Thurman, 28, was arrested on Jan. 13 and charged with predatory criminal sexual assault, held on $480,000 bond. On Jan. 29, Thurman allegedly asked another inmate and known gang member to hire a hitman.

The Cook County Sheriff's Office writes:

On January 30, 2013 Thurman was provided a telephone number, which he believed was number of a hitman. The hitman was in fact an undercover Cook County Sheriff’s investigator. Thurman contacted the hitman and told him he needed three individuals killed. Thurman offered to give the hitman his car and $8,000 upon his release from jail.

On Feb. 4, Thurman was visited by who he thought was a hitman, and he solicited the murder of the victim, her 16-year-old sister and their mother "as soon as possible." He promised him $8,000 and his car once he was released.

Thurman now faces three counts of murder for hire and three counts of solicitation of murder for hire, held without bond.
