Correctional Officer Pulls Gun In Argument Over Washing Machine

A Cook County correctional officer faces felony gun charges after she allegedly pulled a gun on a woman while they argued over a washing machine. Sonjia L. Dennis-Brown, 36, allegedly pulled the gun on the woman while they argued at a Dolton laundromat. The witness said Dennis-Brown said, "this is all the protection I need.
Dennis-Brown told the woman she was a “law enforcement officer,” according to police reports. The woman told police Dennis-Brown kept arguing with her and allegedly reached into her purse and pulled out a black pistol.
Dennis-Brown was charged with unlawful use of a weapon and possession of a firearm without a Firearm Owner ID card. A judge ordered Dennis-Brown held on $25,000 bail.
