Last-Minute Plans: Free 'Say Anything' Screening at Public

By Melissa Wiley in Arts & Entertainment on Feb 14, 2013 5:40PM

2013_2_14_sayanything.jpg Chicago has always been a John Cusack kind of town. Even tony haunts like Public can’t resist his boundless boyish charm. So if you still don’t have any Valentine’s Day plans, amble over arm-in-arm to the hotel’s super swank lobby for a complimentary screening of the 1989 classic Say Anything. The popcorn and candy are on the house.

The movie begins at 7 p.m. in the public screening room, and you can linger afterward for board games and pinball like a bona fide Brat Packer. Special V-day libations will include lavender champagne, lychee raspberry Bellinis, and chili passion champagne cocktails. And if Lloyd and Diane’s on-screen canoodling makes you want to get a room, you can pony up $150 and enjoy complimentary prosecco and bittersweet chocolate champagne truffles, custom crafted by the Pump Room's Kady Yon.

Public is located at 1301 N. State Parkway.
