Food Deals Of The Week: $1 Donuts At Do-Rite, $4 Entrees At Markethouse

2012_2_27_DoRite8.jpeg This is shaping up to be a great week for deals. While we haven't heard of any free cupcake giveaways yet (we'll keep our eyes open for you!), there are two opportunities for you to get some high-quality food at ridiculously low prices.

On Monday, February 18th, Do-Rite Donuts
is celebrating their first anniversary with a special deal. Old Fashioned Donuts (our favorite) are going for just $1. We're kind of boring and prefer the original style, glazed with Tahitian vanilla beans. If you're looking for something crazier, try cinnamon crunch, Meyer lemon glaze, Valrhona chocolate, butterscotch and banana old fashioned donuts, all for $1. Donuts are first-come, first-served, and the deal is only available at the window.

Let's say you're looking for something a bit more substantial than a sweet. Markethouse is also celebrating an anniversary (their fourth) and they are celebrating it in style. A huge selection of dishes on their menu will cost $4.44 all week, starting today and going till the 23rd. Try mussels cooked with Vermont Woodchuck cider, fennel, gala apple and preserved lemon or a mac & cheese gratin with applewood smoked bacon and seven-year aged Carr Valley white cheddar cheese. Portion sizes are (understandably) somewhat smaller, but that means it's an even better chance to try a whole bunch of their menu in one sitting. There are also beers and cocktails available for $4.44.
