Do This: Five Star Bar's Pinewood Derby

Here’s an event for any pinewood derby enthusiasts among our readership. Five Star Bar is hosting a pinewood derby 4 p.m. Feb. 23 with prizes for the winning and worst cars, funniest looking car, “most rock n’ roll car and most x-rated car.

If you want to enter a pinewood derby car in the race, there are some rules:

- It must weigh no more than six ounces, be no more than 2-3/4 inches high with a 1-3/4 inch clearance between the wheels 3/8 inch clearance underneath.

- You also have to use the wheels supplied with your kit—no springs, starter devices or wheel weights are allowed.

Five Star is charging a $5 entry fee for each car and will be selling kits for $10 at the bar. (The kit includes the entry fee.) You can enter as many cars as you want in the derby and enjoy $3 PBRs during the race.
