Do This: Arts Dinner At Embeya Feb. 28

2012_9_17_Embeya9.jpeg When done right, food becomes edible art. So it’s only fitting that Embeya, the Asian fusion eatery whose neutral interior leaves all the color to the comestibles, is supplementing its culinary craftsmanship with something more arrestingly visual. On Thursday, Feb. 28, Embeya will partner with local artist Francine Turk and KM Fine Arts Gallery to host an evening of art that you can see, taste, and purchase.

Throughout March, the restaurant’s 15-foot walls will play blank canvas to Turk’s paintings, ranging in price from $2,000 to $20,000. (Hey, great art ain’t cheap.) Ten percent of the proceeds from the paintings sold will benefit Gilda's Club, a supportive community for men, women, and children living with cancer.

Beginning with a 6 p.m. cocktail reception, the evening will allow guests the opportunity to mingle with Chef Thai and Francine Turk, who will each discuss their respective mediums over a four-course dinner with sake and wine pairings. If you're willing to spend $96, you can secure your seat by calling Embeya at (312) 612-5640.

Embeya is located at 564 W. Randolph St.
