Bank Of America Chicago Marathon Will Hold Lottery For Remaining Open Race Slots

Bank of America Chicago Marathon officials announced a lottery next week to fill the remaining 15,000 entries for the Oct. 13 race.

The lottery opens 12:01 a.m. March 5, closes 9 p.m. March 7 and there is no cost to enter. Registration was suspended Feb. 19 after runners trying to sign up for the race experienced problems doing so. Race officials said the issue was technical problems with the software from Active Networks, the marathon's registration provider. Officials also announced that runners who managed to successfully register for the marathon can confirm their status here.
