CTA Bus Driver Tasered And Robbed

A bus driver was hit several times with Taser and robbed while behind the wheel of the no. 126 Jackson bus in the Austin neighborhood.

A man found the Chicago Transit Authority bus driver, a 40-year-old female, slumped over the steering wheel. The male assailant and the driver were the only people on the bus when it happened. Police are reviewing camera footage.

Police say the man boarded the bus wearing a dark mask and dark clothing, and after a few blocks he started yelling that he had to get off the bus. When the driver stopped to let him off, he Tasered her in the neck, chest and left arm, then rummaged through her pockets for cash. The driver was taken to the hospital, treated and released.
