The Chicago Bike Swap keeps growing by leaps and bounds. This year's event, scheduled to take place 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. March 9 at the University of Illinois' Physical Education Building (901 W. Roosevelt Road) looks to be its biggest yet.
Over 75 vendors will be on hand including bike shops, bike clubs, bicycle-focused nonprofits and people looking to sell their old bikes to guests looking to two wheels to get about the city. People looking to sell their bikes can do so for a $5 fee per bike (a three-bike limit), store it in the Bike Swap's corral, and enjoy the festival. If there's an interest in a bike, they'll call you.
There will also be a bike polo demonstration, sales of cargo bikes, trailers and new and used parts, bike clothing, and presentations about winter biking, biking with kids, and racing teams looking for members.
Admission is $10 ($5 for Active Transportation Alliance members and UIC i-card holders.) It's recommended you bring cash as many of the smaller vendors won't have the ability to accept credit or debit cards.
