If you've been to the Aviary or Alinea, you know that some of the serviceware there is really unique and innovative. Hear Martin Kastner, the man behind the porthole cocktail glass, on Tuesday at the MCA as part of their Culture Catalysts series.
Kastner is the founder and principal of Crucial Detail, which makes restaurant serviceware for fine dining restaurants, among other design projects. A native of the Czech Republic, Kastner trained as a blacksmith and restored historical metalworks at a Western Bohemian castle before moving into design and sculpture.
He'll be talking about his work on Tuesday at 6 p.m. Tickets are free with museum admission.
