Walking Bicycles Announce First Show In Four Years, New Album

Propulsive post-punkers Walking Bicycles have announced their first show in four years, a free Monday night concert at the Empty Bottle on April 1, opening for James Greer's (of Guided By Voices) new project, Detective.

The band says it will be playing material from their "fourth-coming" (HA!) full-length, which will be issued on the group's own Highwheel Records. It will be Walking Bicycles' first albums since 2009's ¿Go?.

Walking Bicycle and Highwheel Records man Julius Moriaty, who somehow isn't a Sherlock Holmes nemesis, told us the following in an email about the band's upcoming output: "We are mixing down two tracks to release as a 7"/MP3 single, which should be out in a few months. The full length is written and a few tracks [have been] recorded." Moriaty, presumably while not twirling a handlebar mustache, says the band plans to have the record out in the fall.
