Last Minute Plans: Afternoon Tastings At Pastoral

By Amy Cavanaugh in Food on Mar 16, 2013 4:00PM

Pastoral is one of our favorite places in the city, and if you've actively avoiding the downtown debauchery, we'd recommend paying a visit to the cheese haven's Lakeview location.

From 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., taste some of the goudas from Rolf and Marieke Penterman, who emigrated to the U.S. from the Netherlands. They make Holland's Family Cheese at their farm in Wisconsin.

Then from 3-5 p.m., Store Manager Matt Whalen will be offering tastings of some of the store's beer. Time it right and you'll get to sample both, then stick around for a late lunch at Bar Pastoral.
