Bears Tight End Evan Rodriguez Arrested In Miami

Chicago Bears tight end Evan Rodriguez was arrested in Miami Beach, Fla., last night. According to ESPN Chicago, he was charged with resisting an officer without violence and disorderly intoxication.
Rodriguez had a mediocre rookie campaign last year and went largely underutilized in the dysfunctional Bears offense. He did show flashes, however, simply by catching the few passes thrown his way. He has been training in Florida with teammates Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery.
The arrest comes at an inconvenient time for Bears general Manager Phil Emery with all of Chicago questioning his decision to part ways with Brian Urlacher. Emery came to the Bears billed as a decisive decision maker and draft expert. So far he has shown the decisiveness by letting Urlacher go and making early free agent moves, signing offensive tackle Jermon Bushrod and tight end Martellus Bennett. But with Shea McClellin, Jeffery and Brandon Hardin, Emery's first draft class was up and down. Rodriguez was the Bears fourth round draft pick last year.
For those hungry for a mug shot, it will be released later today.
