Chicago Lakefront Map Includes Tall Ships, Sea Monsters

You know those awesome antique maps with sea monsters getting ready to devour ships? Now we have one of Chicago.

We featured the bar map that Cape Horn Illustration (husband-and-wife team of Phil Thompson and Katie Lauffenburger) made awhile back. Now they've made Lakefront Currents, which is inspired by the illustrated maps that were produced in Europe from the 15th to 17th centuries.

You can't see all the details from the image above, so make sure you visit the website, which allows you to zoom in on details like Navy Pier, the two baseball stadiums, and an ominous sea monster slithering up to a ship.
