While those of us who had Georgetown advancing pick up the pieces of our broken brackets, let's commend the Illini for advancing to the round of 32. But it almost didn't happen. Illinois let Colorado storm back from a 16-point first half deficit before getting things under control, thanks to consecutive treys by Brandon Paul and D.J. Richardson with six minutes left to play. Colorado used cold shooting by the Illini and a furious 21-0 run to take a 44-39 lead before the Paul's and Richardson's three-pointers untracked Illinois. the Buffaloes would score five points the rest of the way.
Illlinois now takes on second-seeded Miami Sunday at 7:40 p.m.
