Chicagoist NCAA Tournament Challenge Update

2012_03_ncaa_bball.jpg March Madness lived up to the hype, with a 15 seed playing its way into the Sweet 16 for the first time ever. While Florida Gulf Coast University is the clear Cinderella of this year's dance, they'll be joined in the next round by 12th seed Oregon and 13th seed LaSalle. Meanwhile, number one seed Gonzaga is gone, and 2nd seed Georgetown is, too.

Needless to say, these surprised screwed up all our brackets while providing some entertaining hoops action. After the first weekend of play, the leader in the Chicagoist Tournament Challenge is itsbobbyhill's entry, John Groce's Death Stare. With 470 points, he's atop 102 other entries in the Chicagoist pool. That also places him in the 98.8th percentile of all ESPN brackets. We're personally sitting in a tie for 20th place after an awful first round, but with all of our Final Four picks still alive we're holding out hope for a jump in the standings.
