Easter, for me, means sleeping in and maybe taking in a long bike ride, depending on the weather this weekend. For others it means overeating to celebrate the resurrection of Christ while dressed in your best finery (or at least clothes that survived the excess of the night before.)

Why not enjoy Easter brunch in style, instead? There's no shortage of restaurants offering specials to get potential customers through their doors and, if Portlandia has taught us nothing, brunch is an ideal time-waster incorporating the cardinal sins of gluttony and sloth. (And maybe the other five, depending on how you wake up.)

Here are six Easter brunch recommendations for you. (We stopped one short of a deadly sins theme, not wanting to be greedy.)

- Easter Brunch at The Bristol kicks off with an offering of one of their baked goods — we recommend the monkey bread — followed by one of their brunch options, all for the low cost of $25, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. RSVP here
2152 N. Damen Ave.

- Little Market Brasserie will offer an Easter Brunch "sharing menu" from 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for $30 per person. Guests will choose four items for the table and one cocktail or juice per person. 10 East Delaware, 312-640-8141

- Cucina Paradiso is preparing a delicious brunch perfect for the whole family from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., guests can enjoy a delightful array on dishes, all served buffet style. Cost is $25 per person for adults; children 6-12 pay $13; Children under 5 will be charged their age. 814 North Blvd., Oak Park, 708-848-3434.

- Sepia chef Andrew Zimmerman and pastry chef Cindy Schuman have created a 4-course menu full of fresh flavors and produce for you to share with family and friends. The cost per person is $48 for adults and $26 for children age 12 and under, exclusive of beverage, tax, and gratuity. Brunch libations are available for $10. Hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. 123 N. Jefferson St., 312-441-1920.

- The Chicago Firehouse will hold an all-day affair for Easter. Chef Chris Turano has prepared an elaborate brunch and dinner buffet from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. featuring an omelet station, breakfast dishes, pasta station, carving table, salads, entrees, seafood platters, sides, sweets and more. Cost is $49 per person, $17 children (ages five and under free). 1401 S. Michigan Ave., 312-786-1401
