Catch Pink Floyd's The Wall On The Big Screen

CIMM Fest is partnering with Do312 to bring Pink Floyd's The Wall to the Logan Theatre tomorrow night. Alan Parker and Roger Waters' opus of one man's descent into the depths of his scarred inner psyche still remains a favorite of this writer, even if the story can feel a little bloated and overlong at point in the movie. (Really, that whole thrashing around in a bloody swimming pool scene could have been done differently.)
There are a number of factors that set this apart from your average rock and/or roll movie. First, and most obviously, it's the soundtrack and story of Pink Floyd's massively successful, and one can argue groundbreaking in its ambition, concept album. Production design was provided by the notable English artist Gerald Scarfe, who stepped out of his usual comfort zone of political commentary to attack the challenges of illustrating one man's various stages of madness. And of course there's the appropriately oppressive directorial style of the Academy Award winning Parker.
We're sure many of you have seen this on VHS or DVD—possibly after scaling a few internal walls of your own—but nothing can beat the experience of submerging yourself in the movie as it's projected onto a big screen and accompanied by a soundtrack on a massive theater sound system. So don't miss this. RSVP for free entry here.
