During Lucinda Williams' January acoustic shows at City Winery we were floored by the glorious noise produced by her opening act, The Kenneth Brian Band and more impressed thy managed to rock out without setting up the full band on stage. That little taste showed the Drive-By Truckers don't have a stranglehold on modern Southern rock and their album Welcome to Alabama established the quartet as rising players. We're looking forward to catching The Kenneth Brian Band at Wise Fools Pub in Lincoln Park. You may have to deal with some bros in the audience but chances are good the band may cut them down to size before you have to. The show starts at 9 p.m. Admission is $7.
