Indiana Man Calls 911 To Report His Own Drunk Driving

We could make fun of this guy, but we're sort of impressed by his honesty.

A northern Indiana man called 911 on himself to report his own drunk driving early Monday morning. Matthew Devore, 24, told police he had lost control of his car on I-65 and veered into the median, then back onto the interstate.

When he realized he had a flat tire, he pulled over and called the cops to say he needed to be taken off the road because he was intoxicated.

The Indy Star writes:

After stopping his car on the outer shoulder, he told the trooper, he also decided he should report himself as a drunk driver.

The man told [State Trooper Danielle] Elwood he “was sick of Indiana so he decided to go for a drive,” the trooper recalled.

Elwood noted the man had bloody knuckles and asked him how he injured himself, Wojas wrote in a release. He explained that he had punched a wall earlier Sunday evening after apparently becoming frustrated during a game of darts.

Devore registered a .09 BAC, just over the legal limit.
