Art
The Chicago Urban Art Society exhibit "Medley," opening April 12, presents artists who specialize in collage. "Medley" is a grouping of national and international artists practicing collage-work in both two and three dimensional techniques. Looking beyond the expected and pushing constructing boundaries within the digital, analog and sculptural collage culture, "Medley" encourages viewers to consider, "What you think of collage can always change." Guerrilla Smiles Catering will be popping up a kitchen at the opening and enjoy a cold Lagunitas beer. (600 W. Cermak Rd.; 6 p.m. - 10 p.m.)
Beer
Greenbush Brewing's second major event of the week is at Sheffield's, where the Michigan-based brewery is the feature of tonight's "Beer School." Greenbush founders, owners and brewers will be on hand to answer questions and talk about how they got started. They will also be walking you through the beer tastings, which will be paired with Sheffield's famous, homemade brisket and pork BBQ. Tastings will include Tractor Blond-ish Cream Ale, Closure Pale Ale, Dunegras IPA, Brother Benjamin Imperial IPA, Anger Black IPA and Distorter Porter. Tickets are $20. (3258 N. Sheffield Ave.)
