Power Lost To Half Of O'Hare Airport's Runways

A power outage caused four of O’Hare International Airport's seven runways to go dark Thursday night, causing flight delays. The outage began around 9:20 p.m. and lasted about 40 minutes, Aviation Department spokeswoman Karen Pride told the Tribune and the Sun-Times.
The number of flights that were affected wasn’t immediately known, but the weather was already doing its part to affect air traffic at O’Hare. More than 180 flights were canceled due to weather as of 8:30 p.m. Thursday night.
The cause of the power outage is being investigated.
