A pair of book fairs this weekend offers a great chance to stock up on outdoor reads. As you dream about the end of Chicago's rainy season, pick up the perfect book to be spotted with at the park or beach this summer.

Open Books Sidewalk Sale: April 13-14
Open Books (213 West Institute Place) will host an indoor/outdoor sidewalk sale this Saturday and Sunday from noon - 5 p.m. The literacy nonprofit will offer bargains on thousands of titles ranging from $1 - $3. Open Books members receive an additional 20% off. Admission is free.

Empty Bottle: April 14
The Writer's House Pop Up Book Fair takes over the Empty Bottle (1035 North Western Avenue) this Sunday from 1:30 - 7:30 p.m. The event features 40 independent publishers, presses, and booksellers. Quimby's will have a table stocked with books and zines by Chicago authors. There will be live music by Mr. Mayor & the Highballers, Warm Trees, and If Trees Could Write.
