Chef Tweet Of The Week: Mario Batali Likes Tortas Frontera

Following Rick Bayless on Twitter is often informative and always entertaining (do it yourself: @Rick_Bayless) and it's good to see that we aren't the only ones who are completely obsessed with Tortas Frontera. When we say obsessed, we mean that we get to the airport early just to eat there. Apparently we have something in common with Mario Batali.

Given Chicago's recent pounding in the national media, it's good to know that we can still brag about at least one thing without sounding too arrogant. Batali gave an interview to Bon Appetit in which he name-dropped our favorite local sandwich shop. As you can see above, Chef Bayless photographed part of it — but you can read the whole thing here.

The relevant quote:

BA: Any eating and drinking strategies for flying? MB: I don't eat in airports or on planes. At O'Hare, however, Rick Bayless has a restaurant called Tortas Frontera. It's the one place I'll trust.

No plane food for Chef Batali. Clearly, despite his fame, his culinary judgment remains intact.
