Pleasant House Bakery, everyone's favorite savory pie company, has been teasing people for weeks with tidbits and photos of their new location. Rather than a big reveal, Pleasant House turned it into a game, taking pictures of windows and cornices and asking people to guess. It was kind of amusing, except... where are the damn pies!?

Unfortunately, unless you are taking a vacation, you probably won't be able to get them. Pleasant House is opening a second location in Three Oaks, Mich. Three Oaks is a popular tourist destination about two hours away from Chicago, and it's also the home of Journeyman Distillery.

Penny Pollack was the first to break the news over the weekend.

Grubstreet got more details, and even more information came through the Pleasant House newsletter. The building itself is a "lovely 1800s structure with two floors, including a private party room and outdoor deck overlooking the town," with plenty of space for special events. "Bakery" is no longer in the name, because they plan to expand the menu.

We will still be offering Royal Pies and other delicious locally sourced, British-inspired fare. The menu will be slightly abbreviated at first, with some specials that you won’t find at our Chicago location, and great for a full nosh or just a nibble.

They will also have a liquor license - expect plenty of local favorites, since they are smack in the middle of Michigan beer country.

They've created a special website for the Three Oaks location and hope to open around Memorial Day. Looks like we'll have to take a road trip to Three Oaks - who's with us?
