Free Energy has slowly been building their fanbase around the country but Chicago seems to be one of their anchor points since they've been rolling through town on a fairly consistent basis over the last few years. We are not complaining. Their albums—the most recent one Love Signs is already sure to be on our "best of 2013" list—are joyous bursts of feel-good rock and/or roll, and their live shows inject even more, um, energy into their catalog. We've seen them slowly grow into ever larger rooms, starting with The Empty Bottle and Beauty Bar, so we're looking forward to seeing them stretch out in the relatively expansive Lincoln Hall tomorrow night. Plus, the acoustics of the room are sure to make that cowbell sound KILLER.

UPDATE: The band just released another new tune not on the album, so take it in!

Free Energy plays tomorrow, April 26, at Lincoln Hall, 2424 N Lincon, 10 p.m., $15, 18+
