Pencil This In: 826CHI Promic-Con; Sonoi, Mahogany and Whirlpool At Hideout

With the C2E2 Convention hitting McCormick Place this weekend, 826CHI's annual prom fundraiser takes a comic-con theme April 27. Guests at "Promic-Con" are encouraged to wear costumes of second-hand formalwear. Guests also have access to a silent auction, raffle, photo booth, costume contest, bottomless cups of beer and wine and dancing, dancing, dancing. All the proceeds from Promic-Con help keep 826CHI’s services completely free to Chicago’s youth. (School of the Art Institute Ballroom, 111 S. Michigan Avenue, $40, tickets available here.)

Music

It's an evening of ambient and experimental music at Hideout tonight with Sonoi, Mahogany and Whirlpool. The show starts at 9 p.m. and admission is $7. (1354 W. Wabansia)
