It's A Wine Riot At Union Station

By Erin Drain in Food on Apr 25, 2013 4:00PM

Wine Riot is a festival for wine lovers, unfettered and anarchic and set against the dramatic, oh-so-very-Chicago backdrop of the Great Hall at Union Station. This is a lot less "wine prom" than "wine dance party."

What is it? It's an annual road show-style wine tasting, part of a national tour meant for wine lovers and novices alike. With a score of interactive booths and sit-down seminars, as well as a walk-around tasting featuring over 250 wines, Wine Riot is an event meant for both the quiet and curious as well as the "more the merrier" types. Put on by Second Glass, a tech-savvy pair of friends that simply "want you to drink more wine," this annual party has gained serious traction in recent years. Get in while the getting is good. There's a DJ, a photobooth, and plenty of snacks, to boot.

Want to remember all those wines you tasted? Yeah, there's an app for that.

Wine Riot starts next Friday, May 3. Tickets are available here.
