First the Taste of Chicago announced that they would allow food trucks. Now the Chicago Park District will be letting trucks set up shop in six parks on a case-by-case basis. The parks are Queens Landing, across from Buckingham Fountain; on the Museum Campus; Pritzker Park; the North Pond Gazebo in Lincoln Park; and two locations in Grant Park.

Park District spokeswoman Marta Juaniza said the trucks will be a welcome supplement even at parks that already sell snacks.

"The addition of food trucks will either complement existing options, or offer a new variety in locations that did not have concessions available," Juaniza said.

So far Bridgeport Pasty, Connie's Pizza, e.leaven, Starfruitm and Wagyu Wagon have received permission to operate in the park. Others, including Pierogi Wagon, have applied, but the department is still processing paperwork.
