Discussion
Laura Washington moderates a discussion on mental health and its effects on the people who suffer from it May 2 from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Congress Center (33 E. Congress Parkway). Presented by the Chicago Headline Club and Columbia College Chicago's journalism department, panelists will include Chicago Tribune columnist Clarence Page, University of Chicago Institute of Politics Fellow David Axelrod, WVON-AM personality Perri Small and Northwestern University professor, Dr. Sidney Weissman. They'll be discussing the toll of mental illness on those who suffer from it and their loved ones, and how the Chicago journalism community can do a better job of covering mental health issues.
Cider Tasting
Paul Vander Heide and the Vandermill cider team present the fruits of their labors for the first time in cans to the Chicago area with a launch party tonight at The Fountainhead. This would be a great time to visit one of the best rooftop bars in Chicago. (1970 W. Montrose Avenue)
