Wavefront Adds James Murphy, Fatboy Slim, More To Lineup

James Murphy will DJ on Montrose Beach after all! Wavefront Music Festival released its second wave (get it, wave) of artists Wednesday afternoon, revealing Murphy will be part of the bill.
The former LCD Soundsystem frontman was also scheduled to perform at last year’s festival, however an early afternoon thunderstorm on Sunday dashed hopes of seeing Murphy behind the decks.
Also joining the already strong and relatively diverse lineup is Fatboy Slim, Holy Ghost!, Erick Morillo, Nadia Ali and Chicago legends Derrick Carter and Frankie Knuckles. Fatboy Slim is a more reasonable choice for this house music focused fest than his 2011 appearance at the the dubstep and jam band-heavy North Coast Festival and a live set from NYC synth-poppers Holy Ghost! should be a nice reprieve from the rest of the festival’s exclusively DJ lineup. More barefoot beach dancing for all!
Interestingly, the festival is also promising an upcoming third wave on its Facebook page. Hopefully it will bring continued good news about this burgeoning fest.
Wavefront Music Festival debuted in 2012. It will take place this summer on July 5-7. Tickets are on sale now.
