Walt Delaney, Alex Honnet, and Caitlin Stephan, three local improv performers who manage The Upstairs Gallery, an excellent DIY comedy space, just announced plans to mount A Jangleheart Circus, a three-day independent comedy festival this summer at The Den Theatre in Wicker Park. The festival looks to showcase "the sharpest minds in sketch, improv, and stand-up (but mostly improv)," with performances from local veterans like Cook County Social Club, Rainbow Deli, and Tim Baltz, as well as well as several of the thrillingly experimental groups that regularly appear at The Upstairs Gallery, including Pizza Party, Kill All Comedy, and Making Out With Wes Perry and Friends.

A Jangleheart Circus runs from Aug. 22 to 24, and tickets are $20 per day or $50 for a three-day pass. Check out the fest's website for the lineup and other information.

The Den Theatre is at 1333 N. Milwaukee Ave.
