Last Minute Plans: Rock Duo Hobbyist Performs At Quenchers

By Tankboy in Arts & Entertainment on May 2, 2013 9:00PM

2013_05_hobbyist.jpgLocal duo Hobbyist specializes in stripped down, brutal indie rock and / or roll. Their approach is pretty basic: Marc Mozga handles whatever instruments are thrown on a track (and presumably live) while Holly Prindle lays her full-throated vocals above the din. It's spooky and aggressive and dark and the sort of thing we can totally groove on if we're in a dark, dank room surrounded by the stink of the forlorn.

Something like that.

Hobbyist just released their self-titled debut, though it isn't the first release from Mozga and Prindle since they've previously released material under the defunct moniker I Luv Luv Birds. We gotta admit we're glad they n=made the name change.

The band plays tonight, May 2, at Quenchers, so if you're feeling in a dark and edgy and violent mood, head over their and soak in the vibe since we think it'll fit you perfectly.
