The FBI announced today that it had thwarted a terror attack in Minnesota "and that the lives of several local residents were potentially saved." A 24-year-old man, Buford Rogers, was arrested in Montevideo, Minn., and charged with one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The FBI says that on Friday, its agents, as well as local, state and federal officials (including ones from the ATF) searched Rogers' residence and found "several guns and explosive devices." Specifically, the AP says they found "Molotov cocktails, suspected pipe bombs and firearms" such as a "Romanian AKM assault rifle."

Rogers, who was convicted of felony burglary in 2011, reportedly admitted to agents that he had recently fired an assault rifle at a gun range. He is also linked to a militia group.
