$8 Million Bail For Cleveland Kidnapping Suspect Ariel Castro

Bail was set at $8 million this morning for Ariel Castro, the suspect in the kidnappings of Cleveland women Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight. Castro was charged Wednesday with four counts of kidnapping, one for each woman and the 6-year-old daughter of Amanda Berry he allegedly conceived, and three counts of rape.

Castro's brothers, Pedro and Onil, were also arraigned on unrelated charges this morning. Pedro Castro was fined $100 after pleading guilty to a 2011 open container charge. Onil Castro was arraigned on open container and drug abuse charges from 2001, which Judge Lauren Moore dismissed. The three Castro brothers were arrested Monday in connection with the kidnappings, but authorities have not charged Pedro and Onil Castro.

A law enforcement source told CBS News Ariel Castro wrote a letter in 2004 that was discovered in his house where he confessed to kidnapping the three women, offered details on how he abducted each one, said he was sexually abused by his parents and raped by an uncle as a child, contemplated suicide and asked that money from his money be distributed to his victims.
