the warmer weather has farmers markets across the city dusting off the canopies and heading outdoors. Green City Market's outdoor season began May 4, followed by the opening of the Lincoln Park, Division Street and Beverly farmers markets last weekend. This Sunday, May 19, the Logan Square Farmers Market leaves their winter confines at the Congress Theater for the fresh air that only the Square can provide.

Every Sunday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. through Oct. 27, Logan Boulevard from Milwaukee Avenue to Whipple will be transformed as one of the most popular farmers markets in Chicago returns to provide Logan Square residents with fresh fruit, vegetables, meat and dairy. Those looking for some exercise can participate in yoga lessons, courtesy of Tula Yoga Studio, and representatives from Food and Water Watch will be on hand to explain their efforts to ensure the food and water we consume is sustainable.

Logan Square Farmers Market will also launch a Wednesday evening market starting Wednesday, June 26. It's one of two traditional farmers markets spinning off into evening markets announced by the Emanuel administration last month. the evening farmers market will run from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. through Sept. 4.
