Indiana Steak 'N Shake Waitress Gets $446 Tip

By Samantha Abernethy in Food on May 17, 2013 7:40PM

2013_5_17_tip.jpg A Steak 'n Shake waitress received a $446 tip on a $6 tab that was accompanied by no real explanation whatsoever. The waitress in Indianapolis was apparently waiting on a tough table, and one of her regular customers took notice.

"I didn't think I was worth $400 but, you know, she feels I am," waitress CeCe Bruce told the local news. WTHR writes:

When CeCe picked up the credit card receipt, "at first I thought, '$46?' And I said, 'Miss Jo, that's really generous!'"

But Miss Jo had actually left her a far bigger tip.

"When I looked again, I said 'Oh my gosh Miss Jo, I'm not taking that!' And she said, 'Yes, you're taking it' and I said no and she said 'You need to take it'," CeCe said.

The cynic in us wants to think it's some weird, dirty money because of the specific number, but let's try to just be positive about humanity for once. Bruce works full-time at Steak 'n Shake and is a part-time student. She says she's just going to pay some bills and not blow the money on anything extravagant.
