Weekend Blotter: 5 Dead, 18 Wounded In Weekend Violence
At least five people were killed and 18 were wounded in citywide violence over the weekend.
Clifton "Manny" Barney, 17, was shot multiple times and killed around 7:25 p.m. Friday in an alley in the Grand Crossing neighborhood. The boy's mother says she believes it was in retaliation for a May 13 shooting death at Harold's Chicken Shack.
Ramar Bonner, 40, was found shot to death around 8 p.m. Friday in the Austin neighborhood.
Keith Johnson, 27, was shot and killed during an argument with a man on the sidewalk on the West Side around 3:50 a.m. Saturday.
Shaneda Lawrence, 30, was shot and killed around 9 p.m. Saturday when shots were fired into a group at a park in Englewood. A 24-year-old man was also shot and wounded.
Edward Jordan, 53, was fatally shot around 2:10 a.m. Sunday in the Austin neighborhood.
A 12-year-old boy is in critical condition after he was shot multiple times while playing with a handgun around 3 p.m. Saturday in Little Village. A 16-year-old boy, who was not there at the time, was charged with misdemeanor reckless conduct for bringing the weapon into the home.
Two people were sitting in a car around 2:20 a.m. in Albany Park when a man approached and opened fire. A 17-year-old male was shot in the head and is in critical condition. A 19-year-old woman was shot in the forearm.
