Pencil This In: Story Club South Side; Order Of The Black Phoenix Tap Takeover

After a brief hiatus, Story Club returns to the South Side with a new theme ("Villainy") and a host of featured readers 7:30 p.m. tonight at the Co-Prosperity Sphere (3219 S. Morgan St.). The featured readers are Monte LaMonte, Lily Be and Valentine Soposky. The featured readings will be preceded by an open mic where performers are given five minutes to tell their stories.

Chicago Craft Beer Week

Pete Crowley's success at Haymarket Brewery & Pub is the best and brightest example of the deep talent pool of brewers who honed their craft at Rock Bottom brewpubs. The brewery chain often seems to be the recipient of upturned noses from the more anal beer geeks among us. Crowley and other ex-Rock Bottom brewers will gather 6 p.m. tonight at Haymarket tonight for "The Order of the Black Phoenix" tap takeover. Featured breweries include Solemn Oath, Oskar Blues, Sun King, Gigantic Brewing, Three Floyds and more.
