Absinthe is one of the most image-and-myth-laden spirits in the pantheon. The green fairy, visions of artists going mad with boozy rage, silver sugar spoons; how could it be more glamorous than that? We get questions about it all the time: Isn't it illegal? Won't it make you blind? If you want to learn some of the actual facts behind the glamor, The Savoy is hosting a class that will be perfect for you.

Next Thursday, May 30, The Savoy is hosting "Exploring Absinthe: Oscar Wilde to Marilyn Manson." The first class was in April, but absinthe expert Deidre Darling (The Savoy's bar manager) will recap what you missed. This class will focus specifically on absinthe cocktails and the difference between types of absinthe. The class, which includes light appetizers, is $40 per person.
